Checkstep is a fully remote, distributed and well-funded start-up that is building an AI-driven platform designed to automate the process of moderating user-generated content. The platform offers better visibility of trust and safety workflows using AI-first tools that flag unwanted information, content and hate speech to limit the impact of harmful content, in a transparent and auditable way.

About the role:

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to be responsible for building reliable and efficient software and user interfaces using React concepts and workflows. You will ensure an excellent usability, accessibility, maintainability and scalability of these components and the overall software platform. As well as participating in code reviews and testing new features to ensure they are compatible with existing features.

As a Senior Developer, we want you to be a key part of the product decision making with design and product as well as participating in team culture by coaching a growing team of developers.

Relevant experience:

• 5+ years of commercial experience in software development
• 3+ years developing applications in React
• Experience programming with Typescript, HTML5 and CSS3
• Developing REST APIs using Python (preferably Flask or FastAPI)
• Experience with AWS platform
• Experience working with PostgresSQL
• Experience in responsive design with Bootstrap
• Experience with unit testing (Jest or Enzyme)
• Excellent written and spoken English skills

UI: React, Redux, Typescript, Next.js, Bootstrap

API: Python, FastAPI, Faust

Infrastructure: Terraform, AWS ECS, MSK (Kafka), OpenSearch (Elasticsearch), RDS (postgres), Elasticache
