What You Will Do:

- Decomposition, prioritization and delegation of projects, among the R&D team members, based on potential areas of research;

- Leading a team with a diverse technical background, and fostering a productive environment;

- Exploring, researching, analyzing and providing proposals of leading-edge technologies, algorithms and optimizations in the field of database servers based on the latest research publications, which can be integrated into the product (query optimization, processing and data storage);

- Interaction with leading researchers to generate, formulate and define fundamental research cooperation projects that can further positively impact database performance;

- Industry-leading, high-performance, high-availability database server development (with emphasis on OLAP);

- Distributed database platform architecture, design, and long-term evolution;

- Exploring new technologies in the field of database servers (query optimization, processing and data storage);

- Designing and implementing novel data structures and algorithms used for data storage and query execution;

- Enhancing existing row-store and column-store engines (both OLTP and OLAP);

- Integration of AI/ML (AI for DB) ability into the distributed database architecture optimizer and executor engine.

Your Experience:

- C/C++ (core, C++11), python developer (for prototyping);

- Using SQL;

- Using and developing on a Linux platform;

- Developing 24/7 software;

- Developing RDBMS in a commercial or open source database company;

- Understanding distributed RDBMS architecture and principles / issues;

- Vision and understanding of ways to improve database reliability and performance;

- Improving performance for: CPU, Memory, Disk, network IO;

- Large scale distributed system design and development;

- Interest in development of cutting-edge database query optimization (including AI) and data structure technologies;

- Interest in distributed systems and high-performance computing areas;

- Bachelor degree in a relevant field;

- English – upper-intermediate/advanced (interaction with Chinese colleagues on a daily basis).

What Will Make You Stand Out:

- PostgreSQL server development;

- ICPC or other competition winner;

- Work experience as a technical leader;

- Work experience in the HPC area, i.e. MPI, OpenMP, etc.;

- Masters or PHD;

- Russian – upper-intermediate/advanced.

We currently have 22 colleagues. By the end of this year, our team is expected to grow up to 30 people.
