We are looking for engineers to join our Lightspeed Hospitality team in Russia. This is a POS system which helps Hospitality businesses automatizate all processes.

As a Backend Engineer, you will be supporting Lightspeed’s Hospitality product group on the mission to expand our reach into new markets and countries while enhancing our advanced hospitality commerce platform.

For this role specifically, you will be joining the team focused on the epicenter of our backend system with the mission to scale the platform to the next level and allow for 10x customer growth. With research, product development, product design, engineering, and marketing all collaborating in one organization, we’re able to quickly create meaningful features and services for millions of people around the world, resulting in joyful, long-lasting relationships for our customers.

❑ What you’ll be responsible for
— Improve and reorganize the services of our platform to fully unlock worldwide scaling.
— Create and extend the functionality of our products by contributing to our microservice-based platform running on AWS
— Develop clean and highly maintainable code
— Extend our continuous integration / continuous deployment environment
— Work as part of a team (squad) to deliver product features and functionality
— As part of a squad, you get to work with our Product Managers, Architects, and Principal developers
— Extend your very own skills by learning from and growing with the team

❑ Requirements:
— You know Java very well (2+ years)
— Spring Boot, Maven or Gradle
— A solid foundation of knowledge in computer science
— Communication skills in English

❑ What will increase your chances:
– One additional backend language (Python, Go)
— Experience writing automated unit and functional tests
— Experience working in an Agile development environment
— Experience with cloud environments like GCP, AWS, and cloud solutions like Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
— Experience with real-time messaging systems (Pub/Sub, Kafka, etc.)
— Experience with both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases
— Computer Sciences degree or equivalent
